Real Rhode Islander Competition Heats Up
First Couple of Comedy Judge Real Rhode Islanders

(Warwick, Rhode Island, USA)  The second round of judging for the "Real Rhode Islander" contest to benefit the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Research Foundation was held at Prata Bar and Grille in Warwick Saturday Night.

The offical judges got some help from real experts on the quirkiness and substance of Rhode Islanders - Doreen Collins & Charlie Hall who were also looking for material for their new television show 'Rhode Bytes.

"Really, Who is more expert at Rhode Islanders?" a contestant asked. "Charlie Hall has used Rhode Islanders as material for his routines for years."

In addition to 'helping' with judging and gathering material, the "first couple of comedy" were promoting Rhode Island, the contest, themselves and their new show 'Rhode Bytes' which first aired on April 12th right after Saturday Night Live. "Over 30,000 households tuned in" Doreen told the official contestant judges. "We got a view rating of 4.6 !"

Off camera, the official Judges good naturedly quizzed the couple, asking what word or short phrase would best describe 'Rhode Bytes.' "Rhode Bytes gives you a different view of things - ours," Doreen quipped.

The next showing of 'Rhode Bytes' will be on Saturday, July 26th, after Saturday Night Live. Doreen advises that the website at www.turnto10.com (keyword: Rhode Bytes) is updated weekly with new segments of creative comedy.

The last general call for entrants for Real Rhode Islander will be at the 1149 Restaurant, formerly Jasons at 1149 Division Street in Warwick.
