* Eighty percent of women diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history of the disease.  

The REAL RHODE ISLANDER contest is designed to be a fun way to RECOGNIZE PEOPLE, RAISE CANCER AWARENESS and RAISE MONEY for the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation through donations, sales of the calendars and corporate sponsors.

Who is eligible:  People between the ages of 21 and 60 who live in the Ocean State, portray success, have a positive impact on the community and are beautiful inside and out.  

The Prizes: Two very luck RI winners will win a car for 2009 and many other exciting prizes.

The Calendars: The Real Rhode Islander Calendars, one of women and one of men will each feature 14 Ocean state residents who are winners of the Casting Calls.  Winners will be portrayed in a classy, tasteful spread with a brief bio.  The calendars will be "greenified" to preserve the environment and combine stylish design and high quality printing on 12" x 18" glossy paper with wire binding for durability.  The attention to detail ensures it is the display calendar of choice for anyone's wall in home or office.  It will also contain monthly cancer tips and many important dates.

Calendars to be available in October:  The calendars will be released during Breast Cancer awareness Month (October 2008) and will be marketed throughout the year at several store locations.  They will also be sold at Gloria Gemma fundraisers, on the web, and at special RI events.  The suggested price will be $19.99 with a very generous portion of net sales donated to the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
